Emily Klassen has worked as a portrait artist and illustrator for the last 7 years, capturing people’s loved ones on canvas and bringing stories to life. Her work has been featured in several children’s books and local publications, including AIGA Philadelphia and The Gallery at Rowan University. After graduating this spring, Emily hopes to continue her portrait business and further her portfolio in writing and editorial illustration— but as long as she’s creating, she’ll be happy.

As someone eager to spread more awareness and support for period poverty and the first place winner of last year’s exhibition, Emily is honored to act as a curator this year in Flow Forward NJ’s 2025 exhibition and encourage fellow artists in their advocacy
